Forever and a half...

So i have been a lazy blogger... i am not good at keeping up with things like this where I have to put entries in... i.e. diary, journal...etc, just has never been a consistent thing for me...

Even though I have not been blogging, i still have been crafty! I have made a really cute dress from Craftiness in not optional blog... it turned out pretty cute, however, I did not have access to a zipper ( I live in Italy, so no Joann's unless I order online!)... so i didn't totally finish it... the arm holes were a smidge tight too for Deanna so it wasn't the perfect fit... but it was still really fun to make!

I have been making my diaper wipe caddies! They are so cute! I have been fabric mod podging the material to give them a wipeable surface and then making cute elastic ruffles to hold diapers to the front...

I have scrapped quite a few pages for Deanna's baby book... forgot how fun it is! I need to finish a few more pages to get caught up to the present...

I have been nesting like crazy getting ready for this new little bundle of love that will be here any minute! I can't wait to hold a new baby again in my arms! I truly hope not to regret our decision to only have two babies! I think realistically though for us, two kids is good for us... especially financially :)

I am excited b/c I was able to help my non sewing friend by hemming and creating a new wider curtain rod casing on her curtains... I totally did a good job and for sure have the confidence to make our own curtains... perhaps I foresee a drive to Ikea to go get some cute fabric! In my head actually I am toying around with ideas to create Deanna's big girl room once we move her in September.... Fun times... I need to start putting an inspiration board together to put all my thoughts in one place...

Sewing is getting so much fun and easier everytime I do a new project...  I have been meaning to make some of Char's Ruffle butt onesie for the blog Crap I've made... they look so cute and so damn easy!

So that's my long lost post for now... maybe in another three months i'll write another :)

Cute smock dress

For my weekly project, I finished this cute little smock dress for Deanna.  I am still working with the book, One Yard Wonders, which gave me the pattern and all the sewing details. I learned for next time when gathering to measure it in advance both on where I am connecting it, as well as the item I am gathering...I also learned to do more than one gathering stitch in case the thread breaks! Lesson learned! Final product = CUTE!!

Now it's time to buy some more cute fabric!

Fantastic Friday!

What a great day today was! The sun was shining and I was super productive in my own right :)
Yesterday in the mail I received my package from Skye Reve Fabrics ~ Which jump statrted my day to create a little gift for my 2 year old nephew Quinn.  With the help of the book, "One Yard Wonders", I made this cute little tool belt apron in less than 2 hours (new record for me!)

It has a pocket with several "slots" for his tools :)

Yesterday, I also finished making the birthday crown for our sweet little friend John Collin. His first birthday is coming up this week.  I hope the crown fits his head! I went off average head sizes for 12 month olds... we'll see... I need to come up with a way to make the crown adjustable... maybe if I make a buttonhole and button??

When checking my blogger dashboard yesterday, I saw this easy breezy slow cooker recipe from the cute blog MyHappily Ever After.  Dinner was super easy and so yummy! Loved it... even better that we now have leftovers!

Valentines Day in Action!

Valentines Day was so fun over here! The group of Moms I hang with we all had a little playgroup for our littles ~ It was fun! French toast, finger painting and yummy cookies!

Cute Little Apron

So I have decided the only way to beef up my sewing skills is to try to make something at least once a week... (I told myself once a day, but let's be realistic here!) With the help of the book titled One Yard Wonders, I followed along one of their projects in there, and made this cute little apron! It turned out pretty great if I don't say so myself.  I was very diligent when it came to pressing all the seams to make it straight...

Here's the final product:

I decided this will make a perfect gift for one of my wonderful sisters for her upcoming birthday :)

**I need some sewing advice from any of my followers: When sewing with my machine, I notice that the fabric gathers for some reason... I am trying not to pull the fabric as it goes through the machine and let the machine gently pull it through... I have loosened the tension on the top thread... do you think the bobbin thread needs to be adjusted? Any help will be very much appreciated b/c it messes up my sewing flow :)

So new to the blogging world...

I have started playing around with my blog.... for those of you who are visiting my blog... you can tell I don't have much going on it yet~ But i am learning all about gadgets, and buttons and everything blog related... I tend to jump in things by trial and error and sometimes don't read instructions :) If you have any fun easy tips about ways to spruce up my blog, i'd be so excited to learn from you!

So much inspiration!

Is there such thing as following too many blogs?  I feel like a find 2 - 3 new blogs a day lately that I "follow" because the ideas on there are super creative and fun!!! Valentine's Outfit

It has been forever since I have been crafty but slowly and surely I am making my way back!  I was totally lacking motivation and really have been in a crafting funk... Well funk no more ~ Check out this cute Valentine's outfit I made for Deanna.  I am impressed how easy the skirt was, and the pleating behind the heart applique was much easier than i made it out to be initially...

I am thinking about putting polka dot ruffles on the cuffs of the long sleeve onesie.. what do you think? Too much? 

I have decided that although I do like living in Italy, I am looking forward to returning to the states so i can visit Joann crafts and other hobby shops.... the little fabric shop in Roveredo is just not cutting it! Anywho....
